           A few months ago I was chosen to host a Benefit party. I was so excited and honored.  Let me start this party review by saying I am deeply sorry to Benefit and Ipsy for taking so long to post about my amazing party.  I had a death in the family that week and it really affected my schedule.  But all that aside the party was amazing.

          With all the freebies and I just had to go out and buy all sorts of cute stuff for the party!

          I was not willing to take pictures while the party was happening just to respect everyones privacy.  But I did take plenty of pictures of the products and the decorations before the party.

          I invited friends and family; Cheerse, Katlyn, Jessica, Grace, Beatriz, Emily, Rosa, Tif and my mom.  We played the games, I gave away the two brow gels as prizes.  I also informed them on allot of the products shown and answered any questions they had.  We had loads of fun talking about make up and learning new things.  The ladies favorite part where the free samples they got to take home. They couldn't believe all the stuff and a few of them even knew the brand and couldn't believe that we where all get samples! We all love Benefit and we will all be buying more all due to this party!

           This months bag is a leopard print bag with neon yellow zipper trim. With 5 full size products, its totally worth the money (of $10).  Pick one up for yourself here.

          J.cat False Eyelashes + Eyelash Glue.  Full size box with one set of EL79 Lashes a very full and dramatic lash plus a small tube of lash glue.  A valvue of $3.99 coupon code is LOVEIPSY for 25% off at jcatbeauty.com   I have been wanting to try some false lashes.  I have never worn them before because my eyelashes are pretty long already but I'd like try them for some fullness.  Even tho these are a little to full they will be nice to try.  You never know I might end up loving them

Full size at a cost of $4.49 coupon code is LOVEIPSY for 25% off at jcatbeauty.com.   This is the only item out of the whole bag that I dislike.  The glitter is huge and it's not recommended for use on eyes, which for me doesn't make since to have unless your a costume makeup artist.  When swatching the glitter comes of the palette with no cream color just the lose glitter. I will not be using this item.






         Cailyn Linefix gel eyeliner in the color Iron. Full size at a cost of $21.00 the coupon code is ipsy30 to receive 30% off at cailyncosmetics.com   Lucky me this is another make up item that I've been die-ing to try but didn't know where to start.  This gel liner is very cute it comes with a built in brush.

          Nyx Mosaic Powder in the color Dare. Full size at the cost of $7.00 coupon code is IPSY15 for 15% off or IPSYCHEEKS for 40% off Tango with bronzing powder at nyxcosmetics.com   This blush is considered a rose gold color and is very pigmented, I used it once so far at it was kind of scary, lol.








          Starlooks lip pencil in the color Tickle Me Pink.  Full size at the cost of $12.00 coupon code is IPSY for 35% off starlooks.com.  It is very creamy but the color is to bright for me.  My lips are naturally a little darker then most and this color is just not flattering at all.  I might try it a couple more times before I give it away.

May 2013 Birchbox

This months box theme was "Beauty Diaries"

Which the only thing that fits this theme is the freaken pen, lol.

Cargo, Water Resistant Blush in the color "bali"

I love this little tin, if it wasn't for this product I would be canceling my subscription and getting more Ipsy bags!  This color is a very pigmented barbie pink, looks great with my fair skin tone.

Coola, Classic face SPF 30 Cucumber moisturizer for face

This mineral sunblock is infused with organic anti aging ingredients like evening primrose extract and borage seed oil.  This is perfect timing for me, I have been sitting in the sun allot more these days.  My son is in the middle of his first soccer season and I was almost out of sunscreen.  The smell is very soothing it will be great on our hot summer days in Texas.  I just wish the sample was bigger I will probably get only one or two uses (at most) out of it.  Does anyone else see how little is actually in the tube? Did this happen to you?

A stylish Italian import with invigorating peppermint flavor.  This is just plain old tooth paste to me.  I mean besides the pretty packaging I don't see what all the hype would be!  I really thought this sample was wasted on me even thought I still tried it, it just... blah!

Miss Jessie's Original, Jelly soft curls
Seeing is believing:  This brand new gel boosts shine and tames frizz yet doesn't leave hair crunchy.  I am very excited to try this out because I received another product from this company (threw BB) and I loved it so I can't wait to try this one.  With having frizz curly hair I am always looking for the best product to tame my curls (example just today I bought over $50 of product just for my curls!)  So here's hoping!  (will update with review)

My first thoughts where "a pen?  A F-N PEN, you can not be serious!  Come on BB get it together!"  But I guess compared to some of the other BB finds and extras this is not as bad.  It is a cute pen, in white and pink.  And it writes in pink so that makes it worth carrying around I guess.   But I still think that this could have been planed better.  Maybe with a cute little "dairy" type note pad, the real simple cheap ones that you can get at any dollar store would due.  It would have tide the theme together more and maybe distracted people from the fact that a beauty subscription service was sending the a pen and a "sample".
    PS. This item also came with a $1.00 off coupon.

   All in all the total value is pretty sad but I think compared to the other boxes for this month I got really luck.  Mainly because I had already gotten the Sumita eyeliner and the Amika products in a past BB, all that was really left was the Cargo as the big item.  By the way there was no full size items this time.  But in my option (which is what you come here for, Lol)  this month was a bad month for Birchbox.  I will stick it out because most of my boxes have been good... not great or amazing but good. And for $10 good is good enough... for now!  I think as soon as Birchbox realizes that Ipsy is really going to give them a run for their money, the will have to start stepping it up and soon!  Until then I will be waiting... Birchbox! Lol!

In the Glow Collection, Sephora Favorites (NARS, Too Faced, Stilla, bare minerals, Lorac, Tarte, Laura Mecier & Benefit)

Sephora Favorites In the Glow

This collection came out as a holiday set in 2012 (no longer available). It came with 9 deluxe sample size blush, bronzer and highlighters. The collections retail value was $111 with a holiday price of $45.  They are deluxe sizes sample and a good variety of high end brands. I was very excited to see its under my tree for Christmas. 

Swatched colors from left to right.  Nars Laguna bronzer, Laura Mercier shimmer blog in golden mosaic, Tarte amazonian clay in Splender, Lorac perfectly lit in spotlight, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil, Stilla Convertible color in peony (my favorite from the kit), Tarte cheek stain in flush, bareMinerals pure radiance and Benefit high beam.

NARS Laguna Bronzer is perfect for any skin tone. Its also build able and long lasting. The deluxe sample size came in the typical rubber NARS packaging, with a metal hing and mirror. Size is .08 oz.

Laura Mercier in Golden Mosaic is a blush and highlighter. With four different colors allow you to customize you color. More of the lighter for a highlighter or more of the rose color for a blush. The deluxe sample size came in a beautiful case with push button opening, metal hing and mirror. Size is .14 oz.

Tarte amazon clay 12-hour blush in the color splender. The color swatches as a very light barbie pink with glitter. The glitters are large and noticeable when applied. The deluxe sample came with small metal hing, no mirror with pressed tarte picture in the blush. Size is .11 oz.

Lorac perfectly lit in spotlight a very sheer bronzer or highlight. The deluxe sample came with small metal hing and no mirror. Size is .106 oz. 

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer the darkest of the set. This one like its name actually smells like chocolate (but not noticeable once applied) The deluxe sample came with small metal hing no mirror. Size is .08 oz.

Stila convertible color in the color peony. Is a dual lip and cheek cream. My favorite of the set has get color payoff. The deluxe sample came with a plastic hing and no mirror. Size is .07 oz.

 Tarte Cheek Stain in the color flush. Tarte is the only brand that made it into this collection twice and let me say I'm glade it did. This check stain is a long lasting blush that applies lighter then you would thing, but still a very soft "barbie" pink. The deluxe sample came as a stick tube with click on cap. Size is .17 oz.

bareMinerals pure radiance is classified as a all-over face color. Best as a highlighter the color is a very luminess flesh tone, with a shake top separation. The deluxe sample came with a twist off top no mirror. Size was not given on package.

Benefit High beam luminescent complexion enhancer. This is a liquid highlighter that applies with a brush. I find this one very hard to work with. I always end up with too much and when I try to blend it it cakes up my foundation. This deluxe sample came in a twist top with brush attached. Size is .13 oz.

So make sure you keep your eyes open for these "Sephora Favorite" sets mostly around Christmas time. They are worth their weight in gold in my opinion. Some of the other Sephora favorites that came out this year included a eyeliner collection, and lip (gloss, stain and stick) collection, a bronzer collection and a mascara collection. I love these mini sizes it allows me to have lots of different ones and not feel bad about not being able to use them all (or having spent all that money!).
