Review on NYC NEW Liquid Eyeliner

I received this liquid eyeliner from NYC in the color black.  For participating in the NYC brand challenge from the Holiday Voxbox back in December (found here).  When you review a product from a Voxbox each brand will usually have a giveaway that everyone has a chance to win.   And some brands, like NYC will give everyone a bonus gifts.  I had not received any of the bonus boxes/gifts that I knew I was illegible for as of two weeks ago.  So I contacted Inlfuenster about this just to make sure that it hadn't gotten lost in the mail (because we have very bad mail service here).  Inlfuenster's reply to me was "not everyone gets a box."  well that doesn't answer my question.   I was not asking about a Voxbox and I was asking if the prizes for the brand challenges had gone out get.
So six months after receiving my Holiday Voxbox I am just know starting to receive the brand challenge prizes.  (Still with no good answer for Inlfuenster).  So if you had this same problem (Inlfuenster will have no clue what you're asking them and frankly there replies are short and rude) but don't worry the items are on there way, they are just very very late.  I have also received my Impress brand bonus box that I will post with a review later.

So now that I have that rant out of the way lets talk about the product.  I don't use liquid eyeliner but if I did this one would make it very easy to use.  With a small tipped brush and a very black formula that is easy to control and very pigmented.

Its a little gloppy at first but like I said I'm not experienced when it comes to liquid liners.  It did not smudge and had to be removed with a makeup remover wipe so it will not just wipe away.  I think its a great formula and for the price of  $2.99 its worth having in your collection. It can be found at any Walmart, Target and most drugstore.  So go pick one up and let me know what you think about it.
Thank you to Inlfuenster and NYC for this product.  And as always thanks for reading XoXo.

Ps. Inlfuenster PLEASE work on your support staff!

I received all products for testing and reviewing purposes from Influenster.

May 2013 Ipsy #2

This months bag looked so good in the "Sneak Peeks" (found here) that I had to pick up an extra one to make sure I got as many of these full size goodies as I could.  So this one is my second one (first one found here).  I'm very happy I picked up an extra because what I really wanted was the St. Tropez fell tanner (i got in the 1st bag) and one of the Pacifica rollerball perfumes (got in the 2nd bag).  But it didn't look like their where very many bags that came with both, so this worked out perfect.

Both of my Yaby concealers came in cc008 buff. Full size refill cost of $5.06  Coupon code ipsyluvsyabycc20 .  I was hoping this one would be light (I made sure my profile said LIGHT) but I guess they ran out of the lightest one?  The buff work for now, with my light tan but when winter comes around I will not be able to use either of them.  Which is kind of sad because they are really nice concealers.  They are cream, blend able and long-lasting not to mention I check out the site where you can purchase them and they are nicely priced.  I would defiantly repurchase this one.

I forgot to do a picture of just the Zoya nail polish in Gie Gie full size cost of $8 .  Coupon code is ipsyz, buy 2 bottles and get 1 free +plus 1oz. polish remover and $5 shipping (picture found at top of page) Sorry, but I will update and add nail swatches later.  However I can say that I have already tried this product (twice) and don't love it.  No matter what I do I get so many bubbles in it I have to take it off.  I don't shake my polish so I'm not sure that could be causing this.  I even tried it using OPI's drying drops thinking that I was painting to fast. But the last time I tried it I took 2 hours trying to space it out and give it enough time to dry and it still happened.  So if you have any ideas on what happened please let me know.

Mirabella colour sheers in the color Posy.  Full size at 0.11 oz. cost of $22 .  Coupon code is  IPSY50 for 50% off colour sheers or IPSY30 for 30% off any purchase.  I did not care one way or the other abut getting a lipstick but I was pleasantly surprised but this one.

It is not a color I would normal pick for myself. It looks scarier then it really is.  But I think it look really good and very sheer so the color is not overwhelming.

Anastasia Beverly Hills, Brow gel in clear. Sample size 0.085 oz. full size cost $22 .  There is no coupon code for this one!  Whats up with that Ipsy?  This item I don't need I have two other products that work just fine.  So originally I was going to trade them for something else that I liked but then I stopped to think about it and the whole reason I signed up for these services is to try new products and one that I normally wouldn't buy myself.
So I decided to keep it, I've never tried this one before and, or anything else from this brand for that matter. So I think I might do a review and comparison blog for you gals.  If you like to see it please leave a comment below.

And lastly I got the Pacifica rollerball in Tahitian Gardenia Full size at .33 oz. cost of $12 .  Coupon code is Beauty20 for 20% off purchase.  This was the sent I wanted and now I kind of wish I had gotten the other one.
So what did I do went I first got this one?... being that I was so excited to get the sent I wanted I layered it up like I was bathing in it!  And man that was the wrong thing to do with this one.  The sent is so strong, (which could be considered a good thing compared to the other ones that when reviewed, last only about an hour or two and smelled very faint) it's strong enough to make try to was it off.  Key word here was TRY, with no success.  This perfume gave me a headache for hours.
I haven't been brave enough to try it again, all though I know it was my fault that I didn't like it because how I decided to roll it up and down my arms, lol.  I think on my second try it will be a nice sent.  Not one I would use every day but I would carry it in my purse for emergencies, I almost never go without perfume.
Total bag value $53.74 +plus a gift card for $110 off NuMe.  (This one was the more expensive one with 4 full size items.)

May 2013 Ipsy

This months bag theme was Spring Fling.
I just love this chevron make up bag.

St. Tropez One night only instant glow body lotion in a sample size of 1.69oz a $6 value.  Online coupon code Ipsy20 to receive 20% off your entire purchase at www.sttropeztan.com.  I'm so excited that this was in my bag.   I can not wait to try it out and use the coupon code to pick up some more.

Zoya nail polish in the color BLU from the Spring 2013 Lovely series.  Full size and worth $8.  Online coupon code is ipsyz  buy any two bottles and get one free +  free 1oz. remover + $5 shipping.  This is my first Zoya polish and have not used it yet so I will do a review/ swatches asap.  When I saw this was going to be in every bag from Ipsy this month I thought it practically paid for the bag already! The polish runs $8 and to ship it to the house cost about another $6.95 so that total right there is more then you pay for an Ipsy bag.  Plus the Ipsy bag comes with four to five more products.  So... needless to say I jump at getting a second bag, Lol!
Juice Beauty Reflecting gloss in the color Pink.  Is a full size product worth $15.   Online coupon code is IPSY20 to receive 20% off any purchase of $30 or more online.  In very nice packaging that reminds me a little of the Buxom glosses.  I have not swatched this or tried it on because I have tried other products from Juice Beauty and for me personally I can not stand the smell.  I'm sure its just me, because I have seen plenty of other people rave about this gloss.  So I might try to trade this product at my Ipsy forum I use.
Nu.Me is polished finishing serum sample size in 10ml. value of $4.92 Online coupon code is ipsy60 for 60% off any single product.  Directions say massage 2-3 drops on to palms and evenly distribute through wet or dry hair. Reapply to fished look to add shine and accentuate your color.  I have never used this product but I'm a hair treatment junky so I'm sure Ill love it.
Yaby concealer in the color buff cc008 refill, value of $5.06  Online coupon code ipsyluvsyabycc20 for 20% off purchase.  This I thought would be my lease liked item in the bag and I was happily surprised.  Usually this color would be way to dark for me but I've gotten tan this spring so it has worked out to be the perfect color for me, for now.
I also went out to pick up the $1 ELF palette holder.  I do not have any universal holders and this one was cheap and easy to get.  So you would think that this would work right, nope epic FAIL! The concealer pot is to small for this holder and the ELF palette is magnetic so it doesn't hold it in place.  So, no biggy I glue it in!

BONUS!
Ipsy sent me this bonus item a Urban Decay Moondust eyeshadow in the color Zodiac.  It is full size and worth $20!   Not everyone received this item but there where three ways to receive it (according to Ipsy's official answer). One, a contest held by Ipsy on there Facebook page.
Two, the new referral program where if you refer two friends you receive a free Urban Decay shadow or a Baublebar bracelet with your next months bag. Or three, being an active member of Ispy online.  The last one is was I was part of.  I write these blog reviews and then upload short videos to YouTube.  After doing this as my regular routine I decided to link my video to my Ipsy online profile.  So I think that and/or maybe leaving a couple of comments online are what qualified me for this eyeshadow.
I don't really where sparkly green eyeshadow but just to be given something as a thank you for something I did, is amazing!  Please let me official say "Thank You Ipsy!" Keep up the good work.  And what an amazing bag this was this month plus all the different combinations.   I'm so glade I ordered an extra one! I'm hoping to get the Gardenia sent from Pacifica in my second bag.  And I will post all about that bag as soon as it comes in.

Bag Total: $38.98 + Bonus ($20) + NuMe Gift Card ($110)  = $168.98

May 2013 Birchbox

This months box theme was "Beauty Diaries"
Which the only thing that fits this theme is the freaken pen, lol.

I love this little tin, if it wasn't for this product I would be canceling my subscription and getting more Ipsy bags!  This color is a very pigmented barbie pink, looks great with my fair skin tone.

This mineral sunblock is infused with organic anti aging ingredients like evening primrose extract and borage seed oil.  This is perfect timing for me, I have been sitting in the sun allot more these days.  My son is in the middle of his first soccer season and I was almost out of sunscreen.  The smell is very soothing it will be great on our hot summer days in Texas.  I just wish the sample was bigger I will probably get only one or two uses (at most) out of it.  Does anyone else see how little is actually in the tube? Did this happen to you?

Marvis, Classic mint toothpaste
A stylish Italian import with invigorating peppermint flavor.  This is just plain old tooth paste to me.  I mean besides the pretty packaging I don't see what all the hype would be!  I really thought this sample was wasted on me even thought I still tried it, it just... blah!

Miss Jessie's Original, Jelly soft curls
Seeing is believing:  This brand new gel boosts shine and tames frizz yet doesn't leave hair crunchy.  I am very excited to try this out because I received another product from this company (threw BB) and I loved it so I can't wait to try this one.  With having frizz curly hair I am always looking for the best product to tame my curls (example just today I bought over $50 of product just for my curls!)  So here's hoping!  (will update with review)

Bonus item
Pilot corporation of America Acroball PureWhite, in the color Pink
My first thoughts where "a pen?  A F-N PEN, you can not be serious!  Come on BB get it together!"  But I guess compared to some of the other BB finds and extras this is not as bad.  It is a cute pen, in white and pink.  And it writes in pink so that makes it worth carrying around I guess.   But I still think that this could have been planed better.  Maybe with a cute little "dairy" type note pad, the real simple cheap ones that you can get at any dollar store would due.  It would have tide the theme together more and maybe distracted people from the fact that a beauty subscription service was sending the a pen and a "sample".
PS. This item also came with a $1.00 off coupon.

Box Total $14.08

All in all the total value is pretty sad but I think compared to the other boxes for this month I got really luck.  Mainly because I had already gotten the Sumita eyeliner and the Amika products in a past BB, all that was really left was the Cargo as the big item.  By the way there was no full size items this time.  But in my option (which is what you come here for, Lol)  this month was a bad month for Birchbox.  I will stick it out because most of my boxes have been good... not great or amazing but good. And for $10 good is good enough... for now!  I think as soon as Birchbox realizes that Ipsy is really going to give them a run for their money, the will have to start stepping it up and soon!  Until then I will be waiting... Birchbox! Lol!
